Key Highlights of the UPSC CSE 2025 Notification:
Vacancies: A total of 979 vacancies have been announced for various posts.
Application Dates: The application window opened on January 22, 2025, and will close on February 11, 2025.
Prelims Exam Date: The preliminary examination is scheduled for May 25, 2025.
Eligibility Criteria:
Nationality: Candidates must be citizens of India, or subjects of Nepal or Bhutan, or Tibetan refugees who came to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Age Limit:
Minimum Age: 21 years
Maximum Age: 32 years (as of August 1, 2025)
Age relaxations are applicable for reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC).
Educational Qualification: Graduation from a recognized university.
Procedure to Apply for UPSC CSE 2025:
Online Registration:

Register on the One Time Registration (OTR) platform if you haven't already.
Fill the online application form with accurate personal, educational, and contact details.
Upload scanned copies of your photograph and signature as per the specified guidelines.
Pay the application fee online through debit/credit cards or net banking. (General/OBC/EWS: ₹100; SC/ST/PwBD/Female candidates: Exempted)

Selection Process:
The UPSC CSE comprises three stages:
Preliminary Examination:
Objective-type test consisting of two papers:
Paper I: General Studies (200 marks)
Paper II: Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT) (200 marks) - Qualifying in nature (minimum 33% marks required)
Candidates who qualify the Preliminary Examination are shortlisted for the Main Examination.
Main Examination:
Descriptive-type examination consisting of nine papers:
Essay
General Studies (four papers)
Optional Subject (two papers)
Indian Language
English Language
Candidates who qualify the Main Examination are called for the Interview.
Interview/Personality Test:
A face-to-face interview to assess the candidate's personality, suitability for administrative roles, and general mental ability.
